California’s historic town of Alamo is Contra Costa County's second oldest township and one that features country club living at its finest. Nestled between Walnut Creek, Danville, Mt. Diablo and Las Trampas Peak in the San Francisco East Bay, Alamo boasts a mix of spectacular custom estates, ranch homes, equestrian properties and contemporary homes ranging in price from $700,000 to $2 million and more. Alamo is home to the prestigious Round hill Country Club, a private club featuring golf, tennis, swimming and social events. The golf course and surrounding ridgelines are dotted with homes ranging from 2,500 square-foot ranch homes to 10,000 square-foot estate homes. The community has two public parks and miles of equestrian trails that connect between the surrounding area neighborhoods. The San Ramon Valley Unified School District provides elementary, intermediate and high school education to the majority of the community. BLACKHAWK GATED COMMUNITY

JEWEL OF TRI VALLEY:

Blackhawk California, located in the foothills of Mt. Diablo, was originally a ranch where prized thoroughbreds graced this natural splendor. In the late 70's, Blackhawk California was transformed into a 4800-acre gated country club community. What makes Blackhawk California so spectacular is that you don't have to leave home to enjoy the amenities of a world-class resort; all in the serenity of the thousands of acres of open space and parkland that surrounds and meanders the community, and the school statistics are some of the highest in the area. Tree-lined streets, country estates, villas and several gated communities exude a feel of another time and place. Truly, Blackhawk California is the exclusive community for those who demand the very best.

Half a dozen distinct gated communities reside within prestigious Blackhawk California. A 3-mile tree-lined jogging path joins them. Blackhawk California Country Club is by far the largest of these communities with two 24-hour guard gates. This distinct development is surrounded by thousands of acres of open space winding through ancient oaks, blossoming specimen trees and views of Mt. Diablo and the San Ramon Valley. Homes in within the gates of the Country Club range from 2,000 square foot townhouses to estates in excess of 30,000 square feet. The Blackhawk California Country Club community is enhanced by two golf courses, each with an award-winning designed clubhouse. The golf courses are referred to as the Lakeside and the Falls Golf courses.

A commercial center, Blackhawk located at the entrance of the exclusive Blackhawk neighborhood in Danville, California, about 40 miles east of San Francisco, Blackhawk Plaza is a popular destination for a family outing. The Plaza is a shopping center like no other in Northern California. There are waterfalls, lakes, lush landscaping and exclusive boutiques. Its dozen or so restaurants range in style from the casual Yummy Yogurt to the elegant Blackhawk Grille. At the Movies 7 cinema complex, seven first-run movies show daily with $3 bargain matinees until 6 p.m

Blackhawk Plaza shops are open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.; until 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Sunday hours are noon until 6 p.m. Most restaurants serve both lunch and dinner daily.
What makes Blackhawk Plaza more than just another shopping mall with movie theaters and worthy of a special excursion is its two museums.

Blackhawk California residents enjoy their own shopping village, with first-class fashionable boutiques. You can spend the day at the world-renowned Blackhawk California Classic Auto Museum, a 100,000-square-foot multi-level glass-and-granite architectural masterpiece that showcases an ever-changing exhibition of over 100 of the world's greatest autos dating from the 1890's. Afterward, you can dine at any one of the numerous superb dining establishments that have made Blackhawk California a destination for out-of-town guests.

Blackhawk Country Club:

From its beginning, Blackhawk California enjoyed prestige. Bruce Devlin/Robert Von Hagge designed the 6904-yard, dramatic Lakeside golf course featuring an island on the 18th green! The Falls golf course was designed by Ted Robinson, and features five lakes and a spectacular waterfall. Because of the incredible views and dramatic utilization of Blackhawk California’s natural terrain, these are some of the most challenging courses in the world!

Blackhawk California’s award-winning 20 courts are fully landscaped, and a clubhouse and pro shop complete the picture. Many tournaments have been won on these courts, and there are tennis clubs, camps and social events for everyone from children to seniors. The Blackhawk California Swim Club boasts award-winning teams year after year. The competition-sized swimming pool includes grassy hiss areas for watching the competition as well as enjoying the Fourth of July BBQ, which has become a tradition in the area. Lessons, camps, competitions, exercise classes and lap swimming are enjoyed in the year-round swimming pool, and there's another Olympic-sized swimming pool in case one is just too busy and you want some quiet time to read a book or sunbathe!

Sports and Recreation Center houses 25 acres of parks, basketball courts, outdoor sand volleyball courts, a children's play park and an amphitheatre, and showers for all of your leisure activities.

Lakeside Clubhouse is a pinnacle of luxury and elegant clubhouse features cozy as well as stately dining rooms, a lakeside terrace facing the 18th green and lake, and houses a broad selection of sumptuous cuisine presented by an exceptional staff. The Lakeside Clubhouse includes less formal dining while gazing over the surrounding hills that peacefully seclude Blackhawk California from the world. Both clubhouses include full-service pro shops for your convenience.

CASTRO VALLEY CALIFORNIA

Castro Valley California is a friendly, peaceful unincorporated town, populated by about 58 thousand people. Castro Valley California is located in the heart of the greater Bay Area of northern California. Nestled in a quiet valley surrounded by tree covered rolling hills, Castro Valley California residents, businesses, and visitors enjoy a rural atmosphere at the hub of California's cultural, economical and recreational heartland. Castro Valley California boasts such natural amenities as an extensively developed park system, swimming lagoon, 315-acre lake, and a beautiful 18-hole golf course. Schools are top notch and the community is tight knit. Castro Valley retains a rural atmosphere with quaint among modern business district. You can enjoy Lake Chabot Regional Park for fishing and hiking, as well as attend the Rowell Ranch Rodeo.

Costanoan Indians lived in the area before the arrival in the 1800s of Don Guillermo Castro, from whom the community took its name. Castro was a soldier and surveyor with the Mexican army who received a land grant of 27,000 acres. The grant encompassed what is now Castro Valley and Hay ward.

Castro, a gambler, was forced to sell his land to pay his debts, and he sailed for Chile in 1864. Methodist minister Zachariah Hughes and William Mattox were among those who purchased large tracts from Castro. Several families who settled in the area operated huge cattle and poultry ranches.

That rural atmosphere remains today. There is a continued interest in horse breeding, showing and riding for fun and profit. Plentiful flower, fruit and vegetable gardens also help retain the rustic ambience. Several neighborhoods still lack sidewalks and boast oversize lots. The recent opening of the Castro Valley BART station presented local residents with a new commute alternative to the busy Interstate 580 corridor.

LIVERMORE

Whether you're a Livermore Try Valley resident, considering a move to our community, or just looking for a great escape, Livermore has plenty to offer. Take a look around and you'll find that Livermore has everything you need to live, to shop, or to have a great time.

Livermore, California is a peaceful place with something to excite all members of your family. If you are thinking about moving to Livermore, Remax relocation packet is yours for the asking!

Hard-working, highly educated, and family oriented. These are the residents of Livermore, located in Alameda County, California. Just east San Francisco via the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, Livermore is a part of "East Bay" area. With this close proximity, Livermore is a tranquil yet active community with easy access to one of the most vibrant cities in the world.

The Livermore city is perhaps best known as the home to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), which is a major employer to the region. The lab is operated by the University of California for the U.S. Department of Energy and is one of the world's premier scientific centers. Here, scientists break new ground in the fields of environmental science, biomedicine and energy. But this is hardly all there is to Livermore.

With approximately 75,000 people who call Livermore home, the average age here is 35. Median household income is around $77,000 with an approximate home value of $400,000. The city has been named by CNN Money as a "Hot Town/Best Places to Live", and it's truly little wonder. One of the richest contributors to both employment and quality of life in Alameda County is education. From primary education to universities, many of the school systems here are of the highest caliber. With recognizable names like California State University-Hayward and Mills College, perhaps the greatest contributor to technology, business, and culture has been neighboring University of California Berkeley.

And while people here are well-informed and up to date on current events, they overwhelmingly enjoy taking advantage of the numerous outdoor activities that the area has to offer. Recreational activities abound with two public and two private golf courses, and sports leagues for youth and adults. You can take a unique day trip to the Orchid Ranch, one of the most colorful attractions in the valley, featuring hundreds of varieties of orchids in bloom.

There's plenty of camping at Lake Del Valle, or simply pack a picnic lunch and cast your rod and reel for big trout, large and small mouth bass or a variety of pan fish. You can hike and bike a variety of terrain, including nearby Discovery Peak. Just south of Livermore, this is the area's highest mountain at 3,841 feet.. Women can join in the annual Cinderella Classic, a decades old women-only bicycling event that travels through Livermore on its 64-mile route.

For those who want a reward for their efforts, you can even bike to one of the fifteen wineries located in the Livermore Valley. And, oh, the wineries! The region calls itself "California's Original Wine Country" and benefits from the valley's ideal climate and soils. Wine making is a vocation that spans many generations here, and the peaceful environment offers a welcome retreat for visitors. Anyone who has visited even one winery in their life can attest to the serene environment of sampling a vintner's efforts. With a glass of wine in your hand, overlooking row after row of grape vines, feeling the sun on your skin and the breeze through your hair, for a moment, at least, your cares will melt away.

Real Estate Tips
Selling Your Home >Selling the Details

It is the little things--both positive and negative--that can make a big difference to prospective buyers. Pay close attention to detail when you prepare your home to sell.

Before you list your home, go through the house with a careful eye. Fix any loose door knobs, popped screen doors, and loose grout around the tub and shower. A coat of fresh paint can work wonders to dress up a house. Wash the windows, hang a healthy plant from the bathroom skylight, and clean out the closets. Arrange the furniture to make the room look larger. If the rooms look cluttered, put your extra furniture into storage. You can brighten up a room by increasing the wattage of the light bulbs.

Going the extra mile to showcase your home will pay significant dividends when it's time to show it to buyers.
